Sharing Joy in Every Note

Anda Wattanakit

Anda has been passionate about music and has been playing the piano from an early age. In fifth grade, her music teacher gave everyone in the class a recorder to play at home. She was so intrigued with the sound of the wind instrument that she was determined to learn to play the recorder. After begging her parents to find a recorder instructor for her, she was amazed that her instructor introduced her to the oboe instead. From the first moment she heard its penetrating sound, she fell in love with the oboe. The complexity and the difficulty of playing the oboe at a young age did not dishearten her from trying to get the beautiful sound out of the oboe. She was first formally instructed by Dr. David Cyzak, who made playing the oboe fun. Under the instruction of Dr. Aaron Wilbert, Anda debuted her orchestra experience with the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Youth Music Illinois (YMI). She later joined the Richwoods High School band under the direction of Mr. Christopher Render. In freshman and sophomore years, she was selected to be in the honors orchestra and honors band by the Illinois Music Education Association (ILMEA). With her brother, Anda wants to brighten everyone's day with her music.

Tawin Wattanakit

Like his sister, Tawin has been playing the piano from a very young age.  He became interested in playing the oboe when he heard Anda practice the oboe solo from Tchaikovsky's Symphony No.4. He found playing the oboe very hard at first but could not resist its beautiful sound. Tawin is also a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Youth Music Illinois (YMI). Under the tutelage of Dr. Aaron Wilbert, Tawin hopes he will continue to develop his skills and techniques so that one day he will be able to play the whole oboe concerto by Mozart! At Richwoods High School, Tawin plays the oboe in the school band under the direction of Mr. Christopher Render. With his sister, Tawin is excited to play the duet repertoire for the community to share the beautiful sound of this unique instrument.
